Well we are back at Wooler, 06/08/2023 (69 miles to this weeks winner), Northumberland, North East England for the third week. The 2,850 birds were liberated at 7 30 am into no wind. The winner hit the boards in 1hr 34 minutes for a velocity of 1303ypm.

This weeks winner again is to the brilliant Barclay McCrindle & Son who take 1st,2nd,3rd Open federation with 8 in top 12 of Open federation.

Their winner is the same pigeon that won 1st Open federation last week Blue hen GB 23 V 53226.

Also the hen that won 1st Open in the first race ,she missed the second race due to a minor injury and again was in the drop of eight birds to win the race. The winner is the best of Herman Cuester lines. The others are Frans Zwols,Hooymans,Debacker & Van de Veide.

This loft is on fire and will take some beating to knock off the top spot. Winning 3 x 1st Open federations in the first three races is exceptional flying in the Lanarkshire federation. They take the first 11 in the Centre section .Its just becoming the norm!

It race was very close with the mighty Macs just 1ypm behind in 4th Open .Themselves had a fantastic  team performance winning the first 11 in the section.

GWP Macaloney take the first 11 in the North section out of a team of 18.

Most reported decent returns with the on form lofts reporting 100% in jig time. Must be white mice we are flying! We will all need to get our finger out over the last few races.

As usual I’m scraping around for details of this weeks winners.

For those that bothered to respond to Lanarkshire news-Information or what I could get off  the internet about winners, here it is.

Andrew McBurnie had a brilliant team performance with a 15 bird drop to winning first 14 in Chryston club. Top flying Andrew, his winner is a red hen Alistar Rae distance lines x Stefan Lambrect. His 2nd & 3rd pigeon is Gakpo and Thiago 5th club ,2nd club,1st club,1st North sect so far in 3 races and in 3rd place was his nest mate.

Muir & Gillespie win Clarkston with a  blue hen. Dam is red hen Su 20 L 3179 that scored for Craig in the yearling derby two years ago ,11th sect ,21st Open when he was flying on his own in Coatbridge area. Sire Blue cock Su 19 L5286 that scored a few times for Muir Bros. The cock was purchased as a youngster at Blantyre night in 2019 from Robert McCormack of Winchburgh ,West Lothian.

The pair only went together as the red hen took time to break and the B/C was the only one left unpaired.

Davie Allison had another excellent race with the same pigeon that won last week. Dam is No1 Cuester stock hen and JPS Steffan Lambrecht. The 2nd one is from a Son of Golan from Syndicate lofts when paired to a hen off Stuart Wilcox that he bred from Special K ,one of his main stock cocks from Keon Minderhoud.

James and Gary Green had an outstanding race winning the first 12 in the west section. Top flying lads. Their winner is a Gerald Delaney of Ireland lines. Photo included

A good few Lanarkshire lofts have supported the Moray Firth One loft classic race with excellent rewards

John Short of UK Performance Pigeons winning the third Hot spot race and £500 and Kevin Docherty getting his pooler in the 4th hot spot. winning £351 in the £10 pool bet.

Kevins pigeon is bred from his old  Blue W/F cock bird that was a terrific racer for him in his career. He is bred of birds by John Jones of Mertyhr Tydfil in South Wales.John told Kevin to put this bird in stock loft but Kevins brother told him Kevin will not put birds to stock unless they have won .Davie McCaig will remember this pigeon as he always winning 1st,2nd,3rd to the shed in Lanarkshire Social Circle and always a pooler .He was retired at eight after coming home injured from the channel race. Kevin has 8 ybs of him this year.
